Your five, your rules
Ten players, five a side, is the commonest setting — but nothing imposes it everywhere: each pitch offers the format and the payment mode that suit it.
- 8, 10 or 12 players, pitch by pitch: from 4v4 to 6v6, the expected squad size is set per surface and not for the whole centre — one pitch stays 5v5 while a bigger one offers 6v6.
- One payer, or ten shares: the organiser pays and settles up between players, or everyone pays their own share online. You choose who pays, pitch by pitch — most 5-a-side centres keep a single payer, some prefer the split.
- Open when your players play: at Hi Five, booking runs from 7am to midnight, seven days a week, with the deposit set to 30% on football and 25% on padel — two sports, two settings, one club.
The deposit that holds your evenings
In indoor football, a team that books and never turns up is not one missing player: it is ten empty places at once, on the most expensive slot of the day. A deposit settles that without getting in the way of the booking.
- The pitch is held as soon as the deposit is paid — on a €60 pitch set to 30%, that is €18 to hold the slot, with the balance paid afterwards.
- Everyone pays their share, or one person fronts it — €6 per player at ten, whichever the club prefers.
- The deposit can follow the player’s history — lighter for a regular who always pays, higher for a profile that has cancelled before. Each club sets its own threshold.
The evening is your peak
In indoor football the slot that sells is not the midday one. Everybody wants 8pm on a Tuesday, and nobody wants 2pm on a Wednesday — so the two should not be priced the same, and they should not be sold the same way.
- Rates that follow the hour: a rule-based price grid, day rate and evening rate, without you rewriting anything every week.
- School holidays and bank holidays can carry their own rates — the calendar knows them, you do not maintain a list by hand.
- Booking stays open when the desk is shut: a team that decides at 11pm to play on Thursday books at 11pm.
A pitch that fills itself earns

5-a-side: what centres ask us most
Can I set a different squad size on each pitch?
Yes. The expected number of players is set surface by surface, not once for the whole centre: one pitch stays 5-a-side while a larger one offers 6-a-side, in the same club and the same schedule.
Can one person book and pay for the whole pitch?
Yes, and that is the most common setup in 5-a-side: the organiser pays and settles up with the players themselves. You can also let every player pay their own share online. It is a per-pitch setting, and it is your call.
How do I stop teams booking a pitch and never showing up?

Does SportFinder handle league tables and team rankings?
Not today. No football federation is connected, and per-team tracking is not something we deliver — we would rather say so than sell you a roadmap. What is delivered is the booking, the payment, the schedule and the filling of your quiet slots.
Can I run my centre from my phone?
The back office works in a phone browser, so yes, you can take a booking or check tonight’s schedule from the pitch side. There is no separate native manager app, and we would rather be straight about that than describe one we do not ship.
